22 East is a D2C women's western wear brand currently in pre-launch, with a finalized 10–15 SKU collection. We're looking for someone with a robust fashion eye to choose the right fabric for each design and stay closely involved through sampling and production — making sure what comes out the other end matches the design vision.

What we need is someone who can look at a design and know what fabric brings it to life, then stay hands-on through sampling and production to make sure the product itself — fabric, fit, trims, stitching, finish — is right.

What you'll do
Choose the right fabric for each design: Go through our finalized designs and select the fabric that suits each one best — the eye and judgment for this is the core of the role.
Guide sampling: Stay closely involved through the sampling process — reviewing samples, flagging what needs to change (fabric, trims, fit, stitching), and working with the manufacturer until each sample is right.
Oversee production quality: Once production starts,



check that the output matches the design — fabric, fit, stitching, finish — and speak to the manufacturer purely about the product: what's working, what needs fixing, what to adjust next.
Design support: If a design doesn't translate well into production, be able to tweak it or design an alternative for that piece, with a tech pack.

What we're looking for
A fashion design or textile design background (fashion school grad, fresher or early career is fine)
A strong, trained eye for fabric — how it drapes, moves, and translates from design to garment
Ability to spot fit, stitching, and finishing issues by eye
Comfortable speaking with manufacturers about product-specific changes (not comfortable with or expected to handle negotiation/pricing)
Robust design and technical knowledge
