A merchant banking division is hiring for its ECM deal origination desk. The role is focused on originating equity capital markets mandates by building strong relationships with promoters and corporate decision-makers.

Key responsibilities
Identify and track potential fundraising opportunities across IPOs, QIPs and other ECM and merchant banking transactions through market intelligence and industry connections, and actively convert these into live mandates
Develop and maintain solid relationships with promoters and key decision-makers, engaging regularly to understand funding plans and business priorities
Prepare clear pitch materials, presentations and deal proposals tailored to client requirements
Track, negotiate and bring discussions to mandate closure




Work closely with execution and placement teams after mandate acquisition to ensure smooth handover and productive execution
Participate in and conduct industry events, forums and meetings to build visibility, generate leads and strengthen the origination pipeline

Candidate profile: ECM or core financial markets fund-raising origination experience, solid financial analysis and valuation skills, promoter and CXO access credibility, high street intelligence. Extensive travel and client interaction are integral to the role.
