Role & responsibilities
Lead, guide, and expand the finance and accounts team, including
the Accounts Executive. Review all GST and TDS filings before
submission. The team's output is your responsibility.
Lead debt fund-raising activities - term loans, working capital
facilities, CC limits, and NBFC arrangements. Prepare CMA data,
project reports, and financial models independently. Own all
banking relationships from sanction through renewal. Evaluate
funding options and recommend optimal capital structures.
Build and maintain investor-ready financial reporting - P&L;,
balance sheet, cash flow, and unit economics. Keep the founder and
future investors in constant, real-time visibility of how the
company is growing - this is a core deliverable, not a periodic
task. Track exactly what the company earns and spends, and present
that picture clearly and on schedule. Support startup-specific
compliance - DPIIT registration and Startup India advantages.
Own income tax strategy and resolution, tax representation and
advisory, and all direct tax matters. Oversee GST filings and
reconciliations across entities. Provide tax planning and
optimization guidance. Stay current on regulatory and tax law
changes relevant to the business.
Manage the distinct financial and compliance requirements of the
company's diversified agricultural and technology operations.
Maintain accurate income classification across all revenue
streams. Develop and maintain financial models for business
planning and management decision-making.
Ensure the books are audit-ready and investor-ready at all times.
Coordinate statutory and tax audits directly with auditors and
consultants.
Mandatory software: Tally Prime and Busy Accounting Software.
Required: Odoo ERP working knowledge and Advanced MS Excel. Power
BI preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred candidate profile
This role is not for everyone. It requires someone who has already
proven they can hold financial ownership without a senior checking
their work. If your experience so far has been executing tasks
assigned by someone above you, this is not the right stage for you
to apply.
A qualified Chartered Accountant with 1 to 3 years post-qualification
experience who has independently owned financial decisions - not
executed decisions made by others. Someone who has directly handled
banking relationships, fund-raising documentation, and tax
representation without a senior CA to escalate to.
Precision under scrutiny is essential - every report you produce
may be reviewed by a bank, investor, or government authority
without notice. The judgment to catch a discrepancy before it
becomes a problem, not after.
Comfortable leading a team while remaining hands-on with every
financial detail. Experience with commodity trading, agricultural
businesses, or multi-entity structures is strongly preferred.
If you are looking for a structured role with clearly defined
tasks and a senior CA to escalate to, this is not that role. We
would rather you grow into this role at your next company than
struggle through it at ours.
Perks and benefits
Complete ownership of a company's financial function - not a
department role, the function itself.
Direct exposure to fund-raising, banking relationships, income tax
strategy, and multi-entity financial architecture simultaneously -
breadth most CAs spend a decade piecing together across different
jobs.
Direct reporting line to the founder. No intermediate layer between
your work and company decision-making.
Lead and shape a finance team from an early stage rather than
inheriting a fixed structure.
