We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with primary expertise in IBM DB2 and solid secondary skills in SAP HANA. Additional working knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL Server is desirable to support a heterogeneous enterprise landscape. This position plays a key role in managing and optimizing mission-critical databases, particularly those supporting SAP applications and enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate has extensive DB2 administration experience, including HADR and performance optimization, combined with practical knowledge of SAP HANA database operations and collaboration with SAP Basis teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer, monitor, and optimize IBM DB2 environments (LUW, pureScale, HADR) in production and non-production systems.

- Manage HA/DR strategies including DB2 HADR, TSA, pureScale clustering, and performance tuning.

- Perform installations, patching, version upgrades, and cross-platform migrations for DB2 and HANA.

- Optimize database performance using DB2 Performance Monitor, HADR tools, and tuning utilities.

- Implement and test backup and recovery strategies for DB2 and HANA using native tools, BR*Tools, and third-party solutions.

- Collaborate closely with SAP Basis teams to support SAP ECC, BW, PI, and S/4HANA running on DB2/HANA.

- Provide secondary support for Oracle and MS SQL Server as required.

- Ensure security, compliance, and audit standards (SOX, GDPR, ISO) across database platforms.

- Participate in capacity planning, consolidation, and cloud adoption (SAP BTP, AWS RDS for DB2, Azure, OCI).

- Lead modernization projects such as DB2 migrations, SAP HANA integration, and cross-database consolidation.





- Provide 24x7 support for business-critical systems and participate in root cause analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

- 6+ years of DBA experience with primary expertise in IBM DB2.

- Strong knowledge of DB2 HADR, TSA, pureScale, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.

- Secondary experience with SAP HANA administration (system replication, backup/recovery, performance optimization).

- Exposure to SAP landscapes (ECC, BW, S/4HANA) running on DB2/HANA.

- Working knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL Server in enterprise environments.

- Experience across both on-premise and cloud database deployments.

Desirable / Preferred Qualifications:

- Certifications in IBM DB2 (LUW, HADR) or SAP HANA Administration.

- Experience supporting SAP upgrades, migrations, and DB2 to HANA transitions.

- Familiarity with cloud database services (SAP BTP, AWS RDS for DB2, Azure SQL, OCI).

- Knowledge of DevOps, automation tools, and CI/CD for database deployments.

- Prior experience in multi-database consolidation or hybrid-cloud database strategies.

Soft Skills:

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in DB2.

- Ability to work closely with SAP Basis, Infra, and Application teams.

- Leadership in database projects and mentoring junior DBAs.

- Excellent communication and documentation habits.

- Flexibility to provide on-call and off-hours support during maintenance or go-lives.
