Role Description The Principal LLM Fine-Tuning Specialist will lead the design, training, and optimization of large language models that support immigration advisory, documentation, and client communication workflows. This full-time, on-site role based in Abroad involves defining fine-tuning strategies, preparing and curating domain-specific datasets, and implementing robust evaluation frameworks for model quality, safety, and compliance. The specialist will collaborate with immigration experts, operations teams, and technology partners to translate real-world consulting needs into effective AI solutions, including chatbots, knowledge assistants, and document-generation tools.

Daily responsibilities include experimenting with fine-tuning methods, monitoring performance in production, managing version control and model governance, and ensuring that deployed models align with regulatory, ethical, and data-privacy standards. The role also includes mentoring team members, documenting best practices, and contributing to the long-term AI roadmap for the organization.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong expertise in LLM training and fine-tuning, including prompt engineering, instruction tuning, and evaluation of generative AI models.





Candidates should possess practical skills in data preparation and management, such as dataset curation, labeling, cleaning, and handling of multilingual text corpora.

Candidates should possess solid software and MLOps skills, including Python programming, use of ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and experience with model deployment pipelines.

Candidates should possess knowledge of AI safety, ethics, and compliance, including data privacy practices, bias mitigation, and responsible use of automated decision-support tools.

Candidates should possess solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to design experiments, interpret metrics, and iterate on model performance.

Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field are highly beneficial.

Experience building AI systems for professional services, legal, compliance, or immigration domains, and familiarity with Canadian immigration processes, is an added advantage.
