Job Title: Press Shop and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) Incharge and Developer with production planning, setting , trouble shooting, manpower handling

- Location: BMS Industries Private Ltd.(Technocraftgroup) , Murbad-421401
- Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Head

A skilled Press Shop and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) Setter and Developer is a hybrid role. They combine mechanical setup, tooling development, and automation maintenance to ensure mass-production machinery like power presses and custom assembly machines operate at optimal efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Press Shop Operations & Tool Setting

- Die & Punch Assembly: Setting up, adjusting, and aligning dies, punches, and fixtures on hydraulic and mechanical press machines according to production blueprints.
- Parameter Adjustment: Setting stroke lengths, pressure, speed, and feed rates for blanking, bending, or punching sheet metal.
- Breakdown Resolution: Diagnosing tooling malfunctions, evaluating in-press repairs, or routing heavy dies to the tool room for major maintenance.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Executing scheduled maintenance and lubrication of dies and presses to maximize component lifespan and prevent unexpected downtime.

2. SPM Development & Modification

- Customization & Commissioning: Assisting in the development, installation, and tuning of automated, custom-built Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) to replace slow, manual processes.
- Troubleshooting Automation: Setting and adjusting automated job clamping, logic controls, precision sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic mechanisms.
- Process Improvement: Collaborating with New Product Development (NPD) teams to conceptualize and build new jigs, fixtures, and tooling attachments for newly engineered components.
- Continuous Monitoring: Fine-tuning assembly, welding, or testing SPMs to reduce cycle times and eliminate production bottlenecks.

3. Quality Control & Safety

- Precision Inspection: Verifying parts against technical drawings using measurement tools like vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Defect Analysis: Identifying the root cause of production defects (e.g., misalignments, tearing) and applying immediate corrective measures.
- Safety Compliance:



Adhering to high-pressure press safety norms, including the use of light curtains, emergency stops, and proper protective equipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Technical Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or NTTF candidate.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret 2D mechanical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with CAD software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a strong asset for developing new tooling or SPM concepts.
- Tooling Expertise: Deep knowledge of sheet metal properties, tool steels, and mechanical deformation.
- Analytical Skills: Experience using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or 7QC tools for troubleshooting defects.
- Management: Production planning and manpower handling
- CTC- 6 to 10 lac per annum
- Experience: 8 to 12 yearsRo
