:

A Foreman in the Ferro Alloys Division of a steel manufacturing company is responsible for supervising daily operations, maintenance, and production activities related to high-temperature submerged arc furnaces. This role focuses on ensuring maximum equipment availability, process safety, and high production efficiency, typically managing a team of fitters, welders, and technicians in a rotating shift system.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Production Supervision: Oversee furnace operations, including raw material feeding, electricity consumption monitoring, and tapping of molten metal/slag.

- Maintenance Management: Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of heavy industrial equipment, including conveyors, crushers, and hydraulic systems.

- Team Leadership: Supervise and assign daily tasks to maintenance staff, fitters, and welders.

- Shutdown Operations: Plan and execute shutdown maintenance to restore equipment integrity.

- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (lockout/tagout, PPE usage) and conduct daily toolbox talks.

- Spare Parts Inventory: Manage inventory, procurement,



and the development of new spare parts for smooth operations.

- Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis for machinery breakdowns.

- Reporting: Prepare daily logs, shift reports, and maintenance records.

Key Requirements & Conditions

- Qualifications: Diploma/ITI in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) with 3-5 years of experience in Ferro-Alloy, SMS, or Rolling Mills.

- Technical Skills: Expertise in heavy industrial equipment maintenance, hydraulic systems, refractories, and technical drawing interpretation.

- Competencies: Robust leadership, troubleshooting abilities, and knowledge of maintenance systems (CMMS/MS Office).

- Working Conditions: Involves working in high-temperature, industrial environments on rotating shifts.
