Role Description The Finance Account Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and supporting budgeting and reporting processes for the foundation’s initiatives.
The role includes handling accounts payable and receivable, overseeing payroll administration, reconciling bank and ledger accounts,
and ensuring timely compliance with relevant financial regulations for a Section 8 non-profit.
The Finance Account
Specialist will collaborate with program and operations teams to track project expenses, support grant and donor reporting, and provide analytical insights to inform financial planning and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge in Finance and Accounting, with the ability to apply non-profit financial principles.
- Experience preparing, analyzing, and interpreting Financial Statements to support decision-making.
- Proficient Analytical Skills to review budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify variances and trends.
- Hands-on experience with Payroll Administration and related statutory compliances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA/CPA/CMA) are an advantage.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets; familiarity with non-profit or project-based accounting is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, integrity in handling financial information, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills in English; ability to work on-site in Delhi and manage deadlines in a quick-paced, mission-driven environment.
