We are looking for an experienced Pre-Sales / Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and commercial proposals for modular furniture projects. The ideal candidate should possess solid technical knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing, cost analysis, and estimation software to support the sales and project execution teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Analysis & Technical Interpretation

Review client enquiries, architectural drawings, interior layouts, and technical specifications.

Interpret design drawings and convert them into technical requirements for modular furniture manufacturing.

Analyze project scope and identify estimation requirements.

Estimation & BOQ Preparation

Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Materials (BOM).

Perform accurate material take-offs for boards, laminates, hardware, accessories, and finishes.

Prepare detailed cost estimates considering raw materials, labour, machinery, and factory overheads.

Conduct rate analysis to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

Proposal & Sales Support

Prepare commercial quotations and technical proposals.

Respond to Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI).

Provide technical support to the sales team during client discussions and negotiations.

Coordination & Feasibility

Coordinate with procurement teams for vendor quotations and material costing.

Work closely with design and production teams to validate estimates against final shop drawings.





Ensure technical feasibility before project execution.

Documentation & Project Handover

Convert confirmed projects into Sales Orders (SO) and Work Orders (WO).

Maintain and regularly update databases of product costs, material rates, and estimation templates.

Ensure all estimation documents are properly maintained for future reference.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation, pre-sales, or technical sales, preferably in the modular furniture industry.

Required Skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (BOQ preparation, rate analysis, cost modelling).

Expert knowledge of PYTHA software.

Experience with SketchUp, SAP, or other estimation software will be an added advantage.

Strong understanding of modular furniture manufacturing processes.

Sound knowledge of boards, laminates, hardware, fittings, accessories, and finishes.

Excellent analytical and numerical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication, coordination, and time management skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
