Job Description (JD) – Patient Counsellor (Gynaecology Department)

Job Title: Patient Counsellor – Gynaecology

Job Summary:

The Patient Counsellor is responsible for guiding patients throughout their treatment journey, providing counselling, explaining treatment plans and procedures, coordinating appointments, and ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

- Counsel patients regarding gynaecological consultations, investigations, procedures, and treatment plans.
- Explain treatment options, estimated costs, packages, and payment procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and counselling documentation.
- Follow up with patients regarding appointments, treatment continuation, reports, and post-treatment care.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies.




- Support patient education regarding women's health, preventive care, antenatal care, fertility, and postnatal care as advised by the consultant.

Required Qualifications:

- Graduate in any discipline (Healthcare background preferred).
- Diploma or certification in Patient Counselling or Hospital Management is an added advantage.

Experience:

- 1–7 years of experience in patient counselling, preferably in a gynaecology, IVF, obstetrics, or multispecialty hospital.
