Position - Civil Engineer

Business Unit: Power Business Unit (PBU)
Work Location: Chennai

Experience: 2 - 7 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Job Summary:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to implement and execute Electrical engineering design with the assistance of Designers for T&D; projects.

Job Description:

- Prepare Civil, Architectural, and Structural design meeting quality and schedule requirements.
- Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures.
- Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.
- Determine construction cost and material estimates based on the designs.




- Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints.
- Use latest software and technologies to develop effective designs.
- Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes.
- Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing the designs.
- Execute design projects within allotted timelines and MHs.
- Stay abreast with the latest developments with relevant design fields.
- Ensure compliance with QMS requirements.
- Provide assistance to senior design team members.

Skills Required:

- Good knowledge for the analysis and design of Structural design for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations and transmission lines from base design, detail design to IFC stage for buildings, steel structures, equipment foundation and connection design.

OR

- Knowledge of reviewing and guiding designers for the preparation of architectural, civil and structural drawings for building including Steel

fabrication drawings.

OR

- Good Knowledge of analysis and design of Infrastructure projects of solar plant, water pumping station and service utilities from concept design to

IFC stage.

- Familiar with relevant codes & standards American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Building Code (IBC), American Society of Structure Engineers (ASCE), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
- Positive understanding and working knowledge of design software SAP, STAAD Pro, GT Strudel, MS Excel, drafting tools, 3D platform and document management systems.
- Working knowledge of construction methods, materials and local regulations.
- Client coordination, ability to work independently and as a part of team.
- Support in preparing specifications, basis of design, engineering alternative solutions, BOQs and Value engineering.
- Passionate about structural and Structure engineering.
- Have good technical skills.
- Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a good command over English.
