Job Title: Furnace In-charge Ferro Silicon

Job Summary

Leading Ferro Alloys manufacturer is hiring an experienced Furnace In-charge for its 2 7.5 MVA Ferro Silicon submerged arc furnaces located at Byrnihat, Meghalaya.

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day furnace operations, burden control, tapping discipline, process stability, power consumption monitoring, and achieving targeted production parameters.

Company-provided accommodation and food available at plant premises.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate and supervise Ferro Silicon submerged arc furnace operations.
- Visual observation for excess or deficiency of Carbon
- Knowledge of using Computer operated PLC Based Batching system for furnace charge
- Ensure reliable furnace running with proper burden distribution and charge control.
- Monitor furnace parameters including load, electrode position, power factor, and arc stability.
- Maintain targeted specific power consumption and production efficiency.
- Ensure proper tapping practices and smooth molten metal flow through tapholes.
- Monitor raw material batching, moisture control, and charge mix accuracy.
- Ensure production of required grades including 70% and 75% Ferro Silicon.
- Minimize powdering tendency and maintain finished product quality.
- Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Electrical,



and Charging teams for uninterrupted furnace operation.
- Ensure proper furnace shell protection, lining care, and preventive maintenance coordination.
- Maintain daily furnace operation logs and production reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and process discipline.

Candidate Profile

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Ferro Silicon / Ferro Alloys furnace operations.
- Strong knowledge of submerged arc furnace operations and process control.
- Good understanding of burden calculations, metallurgy, power factor, arc behavior, and furnace reactions.
- Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical aspects related to furnace operation.
- Ability to handle manpower and shift operations efficiently.
- Immediate joiners preferred.

B.E / B.Tech / Diploma / B.Sc in:

Metallurgy

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Candidates with direct Ferro Silicon furnace operating experience will be preferred.
