We are seeking an experienced renewable-energy domain expert and solar asset manager to drive the development of our renewable asset performance solutions for global solar, wind, and hybrid power projects. This role combines deep, end-to-end solar plant expertise with hands-on asset performance management and modern SCADA, plant design, and performance-analytics knowledge. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our software, product, and data science teams, the candidate will be the voice of the plant — translating how real solar and wind assets are operated and managed into the product requirements and intelligence that power the most advanced EMS platform for our global customers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the domain authority and voice of the plant, owning its functional scope end to end across solar, wind, and hybrid assets.
- Work with our software, product, and data science teams to translate real asset management and O&M; workflows into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Define the performance framework: PR, availability (contractual and raw), CUF/PLF, expected vs. actual energy yield, loss attribution (soiling, shading, clipping, degradation, downtime, curtailment), and reliability metrics (MTBF/MTTR).
- Own the SCADA and telemetry data model — points lists, tag standards, and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC-UA, SunSpec) across inverters, trackers, met stations, meters, and the plant controller (PPC).
- Shape the AI/ML use cases with the data science team: generation forecasting, anomaly and underperformance detection, predictive maintenance, and expected-power / digital-twin modelling.
- Specify alarm and event logic, fault diagnostics, and root-cause workflows that mirror how operators actually triage issues in the field, aligned to standards such as IEC 61724.
- Run design reviews and pilots on live plants across global projects,
validate the product against field data, and benchmark competing analytics platforms.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Energy, or a related engineering field.
- 8+ years in the renewable energy sector, with substantial time as a solar asset manager / performance engineer responsible for the performance management of operating solar and/or wind assets, including ownership of generation and availability numbers.
- Deep, current knowledge of the latest SCADA architecture, power plant controllers (PPC), and plant electrical design and performance metrics.
- Fluency in industry performance standards (e.g., IEC 61724) and hands-on experience running loss analysis and root-cause analysis (RCA).
- Working familiarity with EMS, SCADA, and monitoring/analytics platforms from the user's side, with data literacy (SQL, Python, or BI tools).
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to wind, BESS, and hybrid plants in addition to utility-scale solar.
- Experience on international / global projects, ideally across the Middle East or Europe.
- Genuine appetite for how AI/ML can reshape asset operations, plus prior experience working alongside software or product teams — you know how to hand a requirement to an engineer.
- Understanding of grid codes, curtailment, and dispatch behaviour across geographies (a plus).
Personality requirements:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
