Consultant Medical / Surgical Retina Specialist

Qualification

• MS/DNB Ophthalmology

• Fellowship in Medical Retina / Vitreo-Retina (VR Surgery) – Mandatory

Registration

• Valid NMC / State Medical Council Registration

Experience

• Experienced candidates preferred

• Candidates should be capable of independently managing Medical Retina and Surgical Retina cases

---

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Retina OPD consultations and comprehensive retinal evaluations

• Diagnose and manage diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal detachment, and other vitreoretinal disorders

• Perform Intravitreal Injections, Retinal Laser procedures, and Vitreo-Retinal (VR) Surgeries as per expertise

• Interpret OCT, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), Fundus Photography, and B-Scan findings

• Manage retinal emergencies and post-operative follow-up care

• Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options,



and prognosis

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient care

• Coordinate with Cataract, Glaucoma, Cornea, and General Ophthalmology teams for multidisciplinary care

Skills Required

• Strong expertise in Medical and Surgical Retina

• Excellent diagnostic and microsurgical skills

• Good communication and patient counselling abilities

• Professional, ethical, and patient-centric approach

• Ability to work independently in a high-volume eye care setup
