Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Fabric Incharge is responsible for end-to-end management of fabric—from inward receipt to issue for production—ensuring quality, quantity accuracy, proper storage, and timely availability for smooth production flow in kidswear manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabric Planning & Coordination
- Track fabric consumption vs. order requirements.
2. Fabric Inward & Inspection
- Verify fabric received against purchase orders and challans.
- Conduct 4-point inspection system or equivalent quality checks.
- Check GSM, width, shrinkage, shade variation, and defects.
- Maintain inspection reports and reject substandard fabric.
3. Fabric Store Management
- Maintain proper storage (shade-wise, lot-wise, buyer-wise).
- Ensure FIFO system is followed.
- Prevent damage due to moisture or mishandling.
4. Fabric Issue & Tracking
- Issue fabric to cutting department as per approved consumption.
- Maintain issue records.
- Monitor excess/shortage.
5. Shade & Lot Management
- Avoid mixing lots/shades.
- Coordinate with production teams.
6. Inventory Control
- Maintain stock records and audits.
- Minimize wastage and dead stock.
7. Fabric Consumption & Wastage Control
- Track actual vs planned consumption.
- Suggest improvements.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain GRN, inspection reports, stock registers.
- Provide regular reports.
9. Coordination with Departments
- Work with cutting, quality, and merchandising teams.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of knitted fabrics thoroughly
- Understanding of GSM, shrinkage, defects
- Excel/ERP knowledge
- Attention to detail
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5–12 years experience in garment manufacturing
- Graduate/Diploma preferred

- Fabric availability
- Wastage %
- Stock accuracy
- Rejection rate
