Mechanical Draftsman

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to prepare and maintain
mechanical drawings for engineering and project requirements. The candidate will be
responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, layouts, fabrication drawings, assembly
drawings, and related documentation based on engineering inputs and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Drafting & Detailing Prepare detailed mechanical drawings including GA drawings, fabrication drawings,
assembly drawings, and part drawings. Develop drawings based on engineering calculations, specifications, sketches, and
design inputs. Modify and update drawings as per project requirements and engineering revisions. Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and comply with applicable standards and
customer requirements.
Documentation & Drawing Management Maintain drawing records, revision history, and document control systems. Ensure proper filing and retrieval of drawings and technical documents. Assist in preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related documentation.
Coordination & Support Coordinate with design engineers, project managers, and production teams for
technical inputs and clarifications. Provide drawing support to fabrication, assembly, and site teams.



Incorporate feedback from manufacturing and site personnel into drawing revisions.
Standards & Compliance Follow company drafting standards and applicable industry codes and standards such
as ASME, ISO, DIN, or equivalent. Ensure consistency and standardization in drawing practices and templates.
Continuous Improvement Suggest improvements in drafting practices and drawing quality. Support implementation of engineering and drafting best practices.
Qualifications
Education Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical
qualification.
Experience 3 to 6 years of experience in mechanical drafting. Experience in industrial equipment, fabrication, piping, structures, or process plant
projects preferred.
Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory). Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D CAD software will be an added
advantage. Knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, mechanical components, and
BOM preparation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and datasheets. Valuable computer skills, including MS Office applications.
