Head Hunter India is seeking an experienced Materials Planner to join our automotive supply chain operations. We're looking for a professional with a strong background in materials planning within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier environment, possessing expertise in demand forecasting, supplier coordination, inventory control, and production support. The ideal candidate will have experience handling Casting, Precision Machining, Stamping, Extrusions, and Forging parts.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute material planning strategies based on production schedules, customer forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the on-time delivery of raw materials and components.
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to maintain continuity in production while minimizing excess stock.
- Analyze material requirements using MRP systems (SAP/Oracle/QAD or equivalent).
- Drive material readiness for engineering changes, recent product introductions, and line-side availability.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, and logistics teams to proactively resolve material shortages or delays.




- Support cost-saving initiatives through better material utilization and continuous supplier performance improvements.
- Prepare and present reports on material status, shortages, and key planning metrics to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and automotive industry regulations (e.g., IATF 16949).

Skills

- Strong knowledge of MRP systems (SAP, QAD, Oracle, or similar).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, JIT (Just-In-Time), Kanban, and other supply chain best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with a data-driven approach.
- Ability to thrive in a quick-paced, high-pressure production environment.
- APICS / CPIM certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Exposure to import/export documentation and global sourcing practices is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with digital supply chain tools or analytics platforms is desirable.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience: experience in materials planning within an Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing setup.
