Job Description: An Electrical Engineer SID (Sponge Iron Division) for a steel manufacturing plant in Raipur/Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, supervises high-tension/low-tension electrical operations and maintenance, troubleshooting equipment like VFDs, motors, and switchgear to ensure continuous production. This role requires 4–10+ years of experience in heavy industry and expertise in PLC/SCADA systems. [1, 2, 3, 4] Key Responsibilities

- Maintenance & Operations: Oversee HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear (VCBs/ACBs), motors, VFDs, and power distribution networks.
- Preventive/Breakdown Maintenance: Develop and implement PM schedules to maximize plant uptime in SMS (Steel Melting Shop) and DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) plants.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify electrical, instrumentation, and automation (PLC/SCADA) faults.
- Team Leadership: Lead a shift of electricians/technicians,



ensuring safety compliance and shift KPIs are met.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, IE rules, and safety audits. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Qualifications

- Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 4–10 years in heavy industry, ideally steel, sponge iron, or power plants.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in HT/LT motors, VFDs, switchgears, and automation systems. [1, 2, 3, 4]
