Job Description:

Purpose - Why does this role exist?
To be a part of the Plant Engineering team for maintaining the equipment and processes so as to ensure zero accidents, zero quality incidents and zero breakdowns and to achieve the plant productivity

To support shift teams to deliver the targets

Position reports to : Asst Manager – Mechanical (Packaging)

Positions peer with : Team Leaders in other sections like Electrical, Instrumentation/other departments

Positions reporting : Technicians – Mechanical

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)

- Adherence to plant safety procedures and ensure Zero safety incidents
- Ensure uptime of equipment> 95% and OEE of Packing Machines as per target
- Ensure 100% statutory compliance for Legal Metrology
- 100% PM compliance
- Procurement of spares and ensuring its 100% availability
- Monitoring the Power consumption per KL of Paint Production
- Adherence to budgeted cost
- Capability building in the technicians Documentation updating and maintaining (IMS, legal, dept record, PM checklist etc)

Critical Tasks

- Faster Resolution to the issues for Equipment including Automatic Packing Machines, Robots, Conveyors
- Ensure Proper Root Cause Analysis for the Breakdowns using Why-Why analysis approach
- Impart required training to the team members




- Maintain the equipment (by preventive and breakdown maintenance) to ensure 100% uptime through asset care. Coordination with other departments for timely maintenance
- Solve situational problems as and when required
- Ensure strict implementation of best practices as part of ISO 9000, 14000, Safety systems and TQM
- Implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain necessary documents as part of the above system

Decision making authority (Decisions expected)

- Decisions related to cost optimization
- Decisions related to different solutions
- Maintenance related decisions

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Educational Background and Work Experience:

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ Years’ experience in Chemical/Petro chemical Industries

Competencies:

- Knowledge of Automated Packing Machines and OEE concept
- Knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of TPM
- Positive Analytical and Problem Solving skills
- Planning and coordination with relevant stakeholders
- Achievement orientation, Customer centric
- Communication skills
