Job Description: A Shift Incharge Sub Station for a power plant is responsible for supervising daily operations, ensuring a safe and reliable power supply, and managing personnel during their shift. Key duties include monitoring and controlling equipment, performing switching operations on high, medium, and low voltage systems, and leading maintenance activities. They are also responsible for troubleshooting issues, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities

- Operational Oversight: Monitor and control all running equipment parameters and plant operations to ensure a consistent and reliable power supply.
- Personnel Management: Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of the operations and maintenance personnel assigned to the shift.
- Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce all safety regulations, conduct safety-related tasks like issuing work permits, and perform switching operations on LV, MV, and high voltage systems.
- Maintenance Coordination: Respond to electrical malfunctions, assist in planning maintenance, perform diagnostic work on faults,



and ensure maintenance is carried out safely.
- Data and Reporting: Maintain operational records, prepare required reports on plant performance, and analyze operational data.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electro-mechanical faults and equipment outages.

Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field often preferred.
- Experience: Requires several years of experience in electrical maintenance or substation operations.
- Skills: Must have solid leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with excellent knowledge of electrical systems and equipment. A strong commitment to safety is essential.
