Job Description:
Lead Planning will work closely with Editors to ensure stories from India and world are
covered in the most innovative, cost -effective and relevant manner.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead editorial planning
to ensure timely, innovative, and impactful coverage of key national and
international stories across platforms.
- Develop and maintain
daily, weekly, and long -term editorial calendars, ensuring effective
resource planning and deployment.
- Coordinate with editors,
language teams, and key stakeholders to maximise content collaboration and
cross -platform coverage.
- Lead deployment
planning, including logistics, risk assessments, budget utilisation, and
staff safety for major assignments.
- Drive editorial
initiatives, identify coverage opportunities, and proactively lead
planning discussions and decision -making.
- Organise and facilitate
editorial planning meetings, ensuring explicit priorities, accountability,
and timely execution.
- Optimise utilisation of
reporters, producers, and field resources to deliver high -quality
journalism efficiently.
- Monitor emerging news
trends, advise editorial teams on priorities, and ensure preparedness for
breaking and planned events.
- Mentor and support
planning teams through regular feedback, coaching, and development while
fostering collaboration across teams.
- Continuously improve
planning processes and workflows to meet the evolving needs of a
fast -paced digital newsroom.
