Job Description – Psychological Counselor
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, ethical, and proactive Psychological Counselor to support the emotional, psychological, and behavioral wellbeing of students. The role involves providing individual and group counseling, conducting psychological assessments, managing crisis situations, engaging with parents and educational stakeholders, and contributing to institutional mental health initiatives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Student Counseling & Wellbeing Support
Conduct individual counseling sessions through cabin, online, and tele-counselling platforms.
Facilitate classroom sessions on mental health, emotional wellbeing, life skills, stress management, and related topics.
Conduct PHQ-9 assessments and provide appropriate psychological interventions and follow-up.
Provide counseling to parents and participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) whenever required.
Conduct Sahyog sessions, STM duties, MANAS activities, and student engagement initiatives.
Administer and interpret psychological screening tools,
including CHAMP assessments.
Identify students requiring psychological intervention and maintain confidential case documentation.
Deliver evidence-based interventions while ensuring ethical counseling practices.
2. Parent & Community Engagement
Conduct parenting sessions to improve awareness of adolescent mental health and positive parenting practices.
Deliver public awareness sessions, workshops, seminars, and mental health training programs.
Participate in Pan-India training initiatives and outreach programs as assigned.
Collaborate with schools, educational institutions, and community stakeholders to promote mental wellbeing.
3. Campus Outreach & Student Support
Provide counseling support during admission and refund processes.
Guide students regarding academics, stream selection, and career-related concerns.
Visit hostels periodically to assess student wellbeing and identify students requiring support.
