Job Title: Assistant Fabric Technologist
Location: Tirupur, India

Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and approval of recent fabric qualities, ensuring all submissions meet technical specifications, performance standards, and critical path timelines.
Review and approve bulk fabric submissions, ensuring compliance with quality, appearance, colour continuity, and performance requirements before bulk production.
Conduct technical evaluations of fabric mills, laundries, and print plants, assessing manufacturing capability, compliance, environmental standards, and chemical management.
Coordinate pre-production activities, including risk analysis, fabric tolerance reviews, and technical handover meetings with cross-functional teams.
Confirm care label requirements and ensure compliance with product safety regulations, including REACH, restricted substances, and legal labelling requirements.
Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.




Support the monitoring and control of banned and restricted substances through supplier engagement, testing, and training.
Collaborate closely with merchandising teams, suppliers, garment technologists, quality assurance teams, and the UK technical team to resolve technical issues and deliver products that meet NEXT's quality standards.

Requirement:
Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Clothing Technology, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of experience in fabric technology, textile testing, quality assurance, or a similar role within the apparel or textile industry.
Good understanding of fabric construction, textile testing, dyeing and finishing processes, and garment manufacturing.
Knowledge of textile compliance requirements, restricted substances, and product safety standards will be an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
