Job Summary
The BY WMS Technical Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and implementing scalable, high-performance warehouse management solutions using Blue Yonder WMS (formerly JDA WMS). This role bridges business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring robust system architecture, seamless integrations, and adherence to enterprise standards. The architect works closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, developers, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors to deliver reliable, future-ready warehouse solutions across greenfield and transformation programs.

Architecture & Design
• Define end-to-end technical architecture for Blue Yonder WMS implementations and enhancements
• Design scalable and high-availability solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
• Create solution design documents, integration architecture diagrams, and deployment models
• Provide architectural guidance for multi-warehouse, multi-country, and high-volume environments

BY WMS Configuration & Customization
• Provide technical leadership for BY WMS configurations and extensions
• Review and approve customizations, user exits, and modifications to ensure upgrade-safe solutions
• Ensure optimal use of standard BY WMS functionality before recommending custom development
• Support complex warehouse processes such as cross-docking, wave management, value-added services, and yard operations

Integration Architecture
• Design and govern integrations between BY WMS and:
• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• TMS, OMS, WCS, MHE, and automation systems
• Define messaging standards using REST APIs, Web Services, JMS, XML, and EDI
• Ensure robust error handling,



performance tuning, and monitoring mechanisms

Technical Leadership
• Act as the technical authority for BY WMS across programs and projects
• Mentor and guide technical consultants and developers
• Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and performance assessments
• Collaborate with functional leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Performance, Security & Compliance
• Ensure system performance, scalability, and resilience under peak warehouse volumes
• Define security architecture including role-based access, data protection, and audit controls
• Ensure compliance with enterprise IT, SOX, and data governance standards

Setting & Deployment Management
• Support architecture for on-prem, private cloud, and SaaS-based BY WMS deployments
• Guide CI/CD, environment strategy, and release management
• Support production go-live, hypercare, and post-go-live optimization

Skill Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory Skills
• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Blue Yonder WMS technical roles
• Strong expertise in BY WMS architecture, configuration, and technical framework
• Hands-on experience with:
• Java / MOCA scripting
• BY WMS extensions and user exits
• Database concepts (Oracle / SQL Server)
• Proven experience designing enterprise-level integrations
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes

Technical Competencies
• Blue Yonder WMS (Dispatcher, MOCA, configuration framework)
• Integration technologies (REST, SOAP, JMS, APIs, middleware)
• Databases, performance tuning, and batch processing
• Cloud concepts (AWS/Azure preferred)
• DevOps, CI/CD, and release management concepts

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with warehouse automation and MHE integrations
• Exposure to BY WCS, BY TMS, or BY Luminate is a plus
• Experience in retail, 3PL, e-commerce, or manufacturing domains
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification (preferred)
