Summary

The Ward In-Charge is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising all nursing activities within the assigned ward. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, effective utilization of resources, adherence to hospital policies, and compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities within the assigned ward.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Plan and allocate nursing staff duties, shift assignments, and work schedules.
- Monitor patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed occupancy.
- Conduct regular patient rounds and ensure timely nursing interventions.
- Supervise medication administration and compliance with physician orders.
- Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation and maintenance of patient records.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure the availability and proper utilization of medical equipment, supplies, and consumables.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and coordinate with the stores department for replenishment.
- Supervise the maintenance of cleanliness, safety, and discipline within the ward.
- Guide, mentor, and evaluate the performance of nursing and support staff.
- Coordinate with consultants, physicians, allied healthcare professionals, and other departments to ensure continuity of care.




- Handle patient and family concerns professionally and facilitate prompt resolution.
- Report clinical incidents, adverse events, equipment failures, and safety concerns according to hospital policy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and accreditation activities.
- Conduct orientation and in-service training programs for nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical nursing practices.
- Assist in emergency situations and ensure preparedness for disaster management.

Qualifications

- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM from a recognized institution (Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing preferred).
- Valid registration with the applicable Nursing Council.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and make timely decisions.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
