Job Description





Desktop support engineer should have the knowledge of following.

Windows 10 / 11

- Installation & upgrades
- User profiles, permissions
- Device Manager, Event Viewer
- Registry (basic level)

Hardware Knowledge

Ability to diagnose and replace components:

- Desktop & Laptop hardware
- RAM, HDD/SSD, battery, displays
- BIOS/UEFI configuration
- Printers & scanners

- OS troubleshooting (boot issues, BSOD, slow performance)

Understanding of:

- LAN, WAN, VPN
- IP addressing, DHCP, DNS
- Wi‑Fi troubleshooting
- Ethernet configuration

Email & Collaboration Tools

- Outlook (profiles, OST/PST issues)
- Exchange (basic mailbox troubleshooting)
- Microsoft Teams
- OneDrive & SharePoint (sync issues)

Typical Daily Responsibilities

- Resolve L1/L2 desktop issues
- Set up laptops for new joiners
- Troubleshoot network & email issues
- Maintain asset inventory
- Provide on‑site & remote support
