Safety Officer

Location: Khed City Plant, Pune

Designation: Safety Officer

Experience: 2–5 Years (Manufacturing / Automotive Industry Preferred)

Qualification:

- Diploma / B.E. in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Production or equivalent)
- ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) – Mandatory
- Knowledge of statutory safety requirements and industrial safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory safety regulations and company EHS policies.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Monitor compliance with PPE usage and safe work practices across the plant.
- Conduct safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize toolbox talks, safety awareness programs, and monthly safety campaigns.
- Carry out risk assessments (HIRA/JSA) and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss cases, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Work Permit systems, including Hot Work, Height Work, Electrical Work, and Confined Space Entry.




- Conduct periodic fire safety inspections and coordinate mock drills.
- Ensure proper maintenance and inspection of fire extinguishers, hydrant systems, emergency exits, and other firefighting equipment.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure statutory compliance.
- Maintain safety records, statutory registers, training records, and legal documentation.
- Support internal and external EHS audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Promote a robust safety culture through continuous employee engagement and awareness initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing / Fabrication / Welding Plant.
- Knowledge of the Factories Act, State Factory Rules, and applicable EHS regulations.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, 5S, Kaizen, and Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS).
- Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office for preparation of safety reports and presentations.
