About Studio Underground
Studio Underground is a leading creative production house specializing in government documentaries, television commercials, promotional films, motion graphics, corporate films, and digital content. We work with various government departments and organizations to create impactful visual stories.

About Role: We are looking for active, creative and technically skilled Cinematographers to join our production house. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment , handling shoots independently and delivering high-quality visual content across government films, documentaries, corporate films, promotional videos and other production projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle cinematography for films, documentaries, TVCs, corporate videos, government projects and digital content .

- Independently operate and manage Sony camera systems , including Sony FX/Alpha series and related cinema equipment.

- Plan and execute camera setups according to the creative and production Requirements.

- Handle camera, lenses, gimbals, Slider, tripods, lighting and other production equipment independently.

- Coordinate with the Creative Director, Director and Production Team to achieve the required visual style.

- Operate and manage drones for aerial cinematography, wherever required and legally permitted.

- Ensure proper camera settings, framing, exposure, focus, composition and visual continuity.

- Assist in planning shots, camera movements, lighting setups and overall visual execution .

- Be responsible for the safe handling, transportation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment .





- Prepare and check all required equipment before shoots and ensure proper packing and storage after shoots.

- Adapt quickly to indoor, outdoor, location and travel-based shoots .

- Work efficiently under tight deadlines and changing production Requirements.

- Coordinate with the production team during shoots to ensure smooth execution.

- Maintain proper organization of footage and coordinate with the post-production team for data handover.

- Travel for shoots as and when required.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

2–5 years of professional experience as a Cinematographer / Camera Person.

- Strong working knowledge of Sony camera systems , particularly Sony FX/Alpha series.

- Good understanding of cinema cameras, lenses, lighting and camera accessories .

- Hands-on experience with drone operations and aerial cinematography .

- Strong understanding of framing, composition, exposure, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, white balance and colour .

- Ability to independently manage camera and production equipment.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment .

- Good problem-solving and on-ground decision-making skills.

- Physically active and comfortable with long shooting hours, outdoor shoots and travel .

- Positive communication and teamwork skills.

- Attention to detail and a strong visual sense.

- Ability to adapt to different shooting styles and project Requirements.

- Basic understanding of DaVinci Resolve / Premiere Pro and post-production workflows.

We are looking for someone who is active, responsible and production-oriented —a cinematographer who can take ownership of the camera and equipment department on a shoot rather than requiring constant supervision.
