Location: ADSF Pastoral Center (Chancery)
Position Title: Building Services Manager
Reports To: Vicar General / Moderator of the Curia
FLSA Status: Regular, Full-time, Exempt (37.5 hours per week)

The Building Services Manager oversees the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Chancery building systems and day-to-day services, ensuring the facility is safe, efficient, and comfortable for occupants. This position performs skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repairs and requires working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work. The role is also responsible for the general upkeep of the Chancery and grounds, printing and mailroom duties, and other related tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Audit and generate payment requests for utilities, equipment leases, and vendor invoices.
- Maintain buildings and grounds to provide a safe, healthy, and attractive environment.
- Oversee janitorial services, ensuring all floors, elevators, restrooms, and pantry areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and minor repair work as needed.
- Complete minor construction projects and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Repair and maintain walls, furniture, doors, windows, floors, gates, roofs, and ceilings.
- Research, order, and manage supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Pick up supplies and parts from vendors as required.




- Research and obtain bids for special projects.
- Maintain vendor relationships for HVAC, pest control, elevator service, and other contracted services.
- Coordinate setup of conference rooms and multipurpose spaces for meetings and events.
- Manage shipping, receiving, and delivery of mail and packages throughout the building.
- Issue and manage keyless access fobs with appropriate authorization.
- Generate access reports and troubleshoot fob systems when needed.
- Supervise reception staff and ensure professional customer service.
- Participate in building safety committee meetings and assist with safety drills and inspections.
- Schedule preventive maintenance for HVAC, elevators, fire safety, and other building systems.
- Initiate service and repair requests for building systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Working knowledge of building and grounds maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and painting.
- Knowledge of building codes and protected work practices.
- Ability to supervise and train staff.
- Ability to provide transportation for job-related responsibilities.
- Availability to respond to emergencies as needed.




- Ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with clergy, employees, volunteers, and vendors.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree preferred; trade school training or equivalent facilities management experience may be substituted.
- At least five years of facilities management experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Minimum two years of supervisory or management experience in maintenance, operations, or facilities.
- Minimum three years of experience operating, repairing, and maintaining building equipment and systems.
- Computer literacy in a Windows-based environment.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Willingness to obtain required certifications related to facilities and grounds operations.
- Ability to obtain certifications and licenses such as Cal OSHA, Hazmat, IPM, Qualified Applicator, Back-Flow Preventer, or other required credentials.

Compensation

Pay Range: $75,000 – $110,000 annually
