A Site Engineer manages daily technical, supervisory, and operational tasks on construction sites, ensuring projects are built according to plans, specifications, and safety regulations. They bridge the gap between design and execution by setting out sites, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, and troubleshooting technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Implementation: Setting out, leveling, and surveying the site to ensure accurate construction, including reviewing drawings and blueprints.
Supervision: Overseeing daily construction activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring work complies with building regulations and quality standards.
Health & Safety: Enforcing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with legislation, and maintaining a secure, clean, and productive environment.
Project Documentation: Preparing site reports, documenting progress, maintaining records, and tracking material usage and project costs.
Troubleshooting:
Providing technical advice and resolving in office design or construction problems quickly.
Coordination: Liaising with clients, architects, and project managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction field is typically required.
Skills: Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, organizational, and IT skills (e.g., CAD software).
Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site, which may involve working outdoors, climbing, and navigating challenging terrain.
Working Conditions
Site engineers often work 35–40+ hours a week, frequently in outdoor, all-weather conditions, and may need to commute to various sites.
Pay: ₹10,947.54 - ₹37,685.14 per month
