Property Accountant – U.S. Real Estate Accounting

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant with hands-on U.S. real estate accounting experience to manage full-cycle property accounting for residential and/or commercial portfolios. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and real estate accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage full-cycle property accounting
- Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) processing
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Mortgage and escrow accounting
- Month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparation of financial statements and variance reports
- Budget preparation and forecasting
- CAM reconciliations (Commercial experience preferred)
- Tenant ledger management and reconciliations
- Fixed asset tracking and depreciation
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Owner distributions and reporting
- Support audits and tax preparation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and internal controls

Required Qualifications





- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-5 years of U.S. real estate/property accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience managing multiple properties/entities
- Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in U.S. time zones (partial or complete overlap)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience in property management/accounting software:

- Yardi Voyager(Required)

Experience with additional software/tools is a plus.
