About the Company:
Our client is a leading communications and strategic consulting firm, providing integrated public relations, corporate communications, reputation management, and digital engagement services. With expertise across multiple industries, the company partners with large enterprises, high-growth startups, and global brands to deliver impactful communication strategies.
Known for its excellence in managing complex communication challenges and building strong brand reputations, the organization combines industry expertise with an cutting-edge, client-focused approach to help businesses achieve sustainable growth and long-term success.
About the Role:
We are looking for a practitioner who has operated in high-stakes situations - someone who can read an emerging threat before it becomes a headline, use the current infrastructure to diagnose it early across search, social, and AI surfaces, and then execute every available route to contain, correct, or remove it. This role spans the full crisis lifecycle: monitoring, pre-emption, live incident management, digital content intervention, and post-crisis narrative rebuilding. You will work across company's portfolio of large enterprise, public sector, and marquee brand clients across sectors - where the stakes are high, the timelines are compressed, and the margin for error is zero.
- Search & AI Reputation Intelligence: Monitor and manage what appears on Google, Bing, and AI-generated answer surfaces (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) for each client. Know when and how to use Google Legal Removal Requests, Search Console URL removals, robots.txt/noindex interventions, and structured data strategies to shape what surfaces and what doesn't. Treat AI answers as a reputation surface in their own right - not a future consideration, but a present one.
- Social Listening & Early Warning: Operate and improvise the social listening infrastructure across platforms - X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, WhatsApp public channels, ShareChat, Telegram, and news aggregators. Build keyword universes in English, Hindi, and regional transliterations tailored to each client's risk profile. Distinguish signal from noise across high-volume, multi-geography environments. Pre-empt known spike windows - earnings seasons, regulatory announcements, product launches, political cycles, sector-specific events - before they escalate. Flag coordinated inauthentic behaviour early and build documented evidence trails that hold up in legal and platform escalation processes.
- Narrative & Content Strategy: Place authoritative content that shapes what surfaces when a client is searched, questioned, or challenged. Understand the content signals that influence both search rankings and AI-generated answers - structured data, Wikipedia, high-authority third-party placements, press, and owned media. In a crisis, operate with speed, precision, and tone-consciousness: holding statements, stakeholder communications, dark-site content, and post-crisis narratives that rebuild trust without overpromising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Content Intervention: Pursue every available route to remove, deindex, or suppress harmful, defamatory, or inaccurate digital content. From issuing legal notices directly to platform trust-and-safety - not standard user reporting to filing Google Legal Removal Requests for defamation and privacy violations. Deploy SERM and positive content publication strategies to suppress content that cannot be deleted. Document every case from initiation to confirmed closure.
- Impersonation & Inauthentic Account Takedowns: Identify and investigate impersonating or malicious accounts and channels across X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, and emerging Indian platforms. Know the specific legal reporting portals for each major platform - Meta APAC Legal, X Legal Requests, YouTube Legal Removals - and when to use them instead of standard community-reporting flows. Build dashboards to track and achieve full account termination and associated content removal.8llllll
- Intelligence, Tracking & Client Reporting: Maintain real-time reputation dashboards, share-of-voice grids, keyword alert trackers, and removal case logs for each client. Deliver daily situational updates during active crises and structured weekly and monthly reports in stable periods. Translate raw listening data - sentiment volume, platform distribution, velocity trends, removal outcomes - into clear, decision-ready intelligence for senior client stakeholders. Be the person in the room who can explain what the data means, not just present it.
- Crisis Response: Manage the full crisis lifecycle from early warning to resolution. In the pre-crisis phase: build client-specific playbooks, pre-approve response templates by scenario type, and identify predictable risk windows (earnings calls, regulatory decisions, leadership transitions, sector stress events) to activate elevated monitoring in advance. During a live incident: triage severity within 15 minutes, verify scope and spread across platforms, deploy holding language, co-ordinate with client communications teams, and manage the information flow to key stakeholders under pressure. Post-crisis: conduct structured root-cause reviews, update playbooks, and build the positive content and media strategy that accelerates narrative recovery.
- Stakeholder & Media Co-ordination: Co-ordinate across client internal teams- legal, corporate communications, customer experience, HR - to ensure crisis response is aligned before anything goes public. Work alongside company's media relations teams to manage inbound press enquiries, issue background briefings, and ensure journalist outreach is sequenced with digital response.
Understand how a statement lands differently on social versus wire versus a regional journalist's WhatsApp and calibrate accordingly.
- Investigative Monitoring: Deploy social listening platforms (Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Meltwater, Talkwalker, or equivalent) and investigative research methods to surface risk before clients are aware of it. Connect signal patterns across platforms - a spike in negative news coverage, a coordinated hashtag, and an anonymous blog post may be parts of the same orchestrated campaign.
- Build and maintain a crisis intelligence library for each client: known antagonists, recurring narratives, past incident timelines, and sector-specific regulatory risk calendars. Know when something is organic and when it isn't.
Skills and Experience:
- 4-6 years in digital crisis, reputation management, ORM, or a combination. Agency experience is preferred; in-house candidates from sectors with high reputational exposure - financial services, pharma, energy, infrastructure, or consumer - will be considered.
- Working knowledge of India's IT Act 2000 and IT Rules 2021 (including the 2025 and 2026 amendments) - platform takedown obligations, Section 66C, defamation notice processes, and the distinction between standard user reporting and legal-team escalation. You do not need to be a lawyer, but you need to know when to call one and what to ask for.
- Hands-on proficiency with at least one enterprise social listening platform (Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Meltwater, Talkwalker, or equivalent). Able to build and maintain keyword universes in English, Hindi, and regional transliterations; configure alert thresholds by volume and sentiment; and distinguish coordinated activity from organic spikes.
- Demonstrated ability to execute the full digital content intervention toolkit: Google Legal Removal Requests, Search Console URL removals, robots.txt/noindex, cache invalidation, SERM content publication, and structured data strategies. Understands what can be removed outright, what must be suppressed, and what must be out-ranked - and chooses the right tool for each.
- Familiarity with platform-specific legal and trust-and-safety escalation portals - Meta APAC Legal Requests, X Legal Requests, YouTube Legal Removals, LinkedIn Legal - and the documentation requirements for each. Knows when to escalate beyond user-facing reporting flows and how to move faster as a result.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in English; proficiency in hindi or any other southern regional language is an advantage. Able to write holding statements, dark-site content, stakeholder briefs, client reports, and crisis playbooks that are clear, precise, and calibrated to audience - under deadline pressure, without a second draft.
- Composed under pressure, rigorous in documentation, and able to hold multiple client situations simultaneously without conflating them or dropping detail. Crisis work demands the ability to think clearly when the client is not - this role is for someone who provides that steadiness.
