About the Job
A. Designation Assistant Professor – Mathematics (Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities / Engineering Mathematics)
B. Job Purpose & Role
To teach, conduct research, and serve the Institution for the academic, institutional, and overall analytical & technical development of B. Tech students.
C. Work Responsibilities
C.1 Learning & Teaching
- Develop and teach undergraduate Engineering Mathematics courses tailored for B. Tech programs.
- Demonstrate strong pedagogical command over core subjects, including:
- Calculus & Multivariable Calculus (Differential, Integral, Vector Calculus)
- Linear Algebra & Matrix Theory
- Differential Equations (Ordinary & Partial Differential Equations)
- Complex Variables & Integral Transforms (Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms, Z-Transforms)
- Probability, Statistics & Stochastic Processes
- Numerical Methods & Computational Techniques
- Discrete Mathematics & Graph Theory (specifically tailored for Computer Science & IT streams)
- Optimization Techniques & Operations Research
- Demonstrate experience in teaching modern computational and applied mathematics tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python for Applied Mathematics, Sci Py, Mathematica, Octave) to integrate real-world problem-solving into engineering curricula.
- Utilize technology-driven teaching-learning methodologies, active learning strategies, and activity-based learning to enhance student engagement and academic outcomes.
- Fulfil academic administrative duties concerning instruction, student progress evaluation, continuous assessment, and university examinations.
- Prepare and maintain course files, lesson plans, lecture notes, model question papers, attendance records, lab manuals, and outcome-based education (OBE) documentation.
- Ensure discipline, academic integrity, and overall student welfare.
- Engage students through seminars, workshops, hackathons, math modeling competitions, and applied research projects.
- Ensure alignment with accreditation and quality frameworks (NBA, NAAC, ISO, NIRF) and statutory regulatory guidelines (AICTE / UGC).
C.2 Research & Innovation
- Conduct high-impact research in Pure/Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Modeling, Computational Mathematics, Fluid Dynamics, Cryptography, Machine Learning Mathematics, Data Analytics, or Optimization.
- Publish research papers in SCI, SCIE, Scopus-indexed high-impact journals, and present at reputed peer-reviewed international conferences.
- Apply for and secure external sponsored research funding and grants from agencies such as DST, SERB, CSIR, AICTE, and UGC.
- Supervise and mentor students in research methodology, mathematical modeling, and analytical project work.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering departments (AI/ML, Data Science, ECE, Robotics) to solve complex engineering problems using mathematical frameworks.
- Facilitate industry-academia interaction by demonstrating practical applications of engineering mathematics in modern technology.
- File patents, author scholarly books/book chapters, and build a strong personal academic brand.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications (As per AICTE / UGC Norms)
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree: M. Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Mathematics & Computing from a recognized University/Institute of repute (IITs, NITs, Central Universities, etc.) with First Class or equivalent grade.
- Bachelor’s Degree: B. Sc. in relevant discipline with First Class throughout academic history.
- Ph.D. Requirement: Ph.D. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics (completed or in advanced stage of thesis submission) from a top-tier institute (IITs, NITs, IISc, CSIR labs, or accredited reputed universities) is highly preferred / mandatory as per current AICTE/UGC norms for engineering faculties.
- National Eligibility: Qualified CSIR-NET / GATE in Mathematical Sciences.
Experience
- 0–4 years of teaching, post-doctoral, or research experience in a reputed university/engineering college.
- Fresh Ph.D. scholars with exceptional academic and publication records are encouraged to apply.
