- Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Department Maintenance Experience Required Minimum 5 Years Manufacturing Industry Location DEVA STEELS KOCHI PVT LTD SF No 360 2B Door No 2 224 B Rasipalayam Village Somanur Road Sulur Coimbatore-641402 Reporting To AGM 1 Job Summary The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted operation of all machinery utilities and mechanical systems within the roll forming roofing sheet manufacturing unit The role involves preventive maintenance troubleshooting breakdown analysis and continuous improvement of equipment performance to support production efficiency and product quality 2 Key Responsibilities A Preventive Breakdown Maintenance Execute daily weekly and monthly Preventive Maintenance PM schedules for roll forming machines slitting machines decoilers shearing machines embossing units and material handling equipment Attend mechanical breakdowns on priority and ensure minimum machine downtime Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving bearings gearboxes hydraulic systems pneumatic systems and alignment problems Maintain and update maintenance logs checklists and breakdown reports B Machine Utility Management Ensure optimum operation of compressors DG sets cooling systems cranes forklifts and other utilities Monitor critical machine parameters and carry out condition-based maintenance Conduct machine alignment checks rollers shafts guides for proper profile accuracy C Spare Parts Inventory Control Identify required spares and maintain adequate stock levels for mechanical components Coordinate with purchase and stores teams for timely availability of spares Verify the quality of received mechanical materials and parts D Safety Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety protocols and LOTO procedures Conduct safety audits on machines and recommend corrective actions Train operators and supervisors on secure machine operating practices E Continuous Improvement Implement measures to improve machine efficiency reduce downtime and extend equipment life Conduct root-cause analysis RCA for repeated failures and introduce corrective actions Support management in planning machine upgrades or modifications 3 Skills Competencies Required Strong knowledge of utility and equipment maintenance including hydraulic pneumatic systems Experience in roll forming machines slitting lines cut-to-length lines and mechanical material handling equipment Ability to create and follow PM schedules and technical documentation Positive analytical and troubleshooting skills Hands-on experience in alignment bearing replacement and gearbox hydraulic system maintenance Familiarity with ERP or Maintenance Management Systems is an added advantage Solid communication reporting and team coordination skills 4 Qualifications Diploma B E B Tech in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 4 years experience in a manufacturing company preferably steel metal forming Knowledge of ISO 5S TPM standards is desirable 5 Employment Type Full-Time On-site Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 30 000 00 - 35 000 00 per month Benefits Cell phone reimbursement Health insurance Work Location In person
