Role Description The Vulnerability Manager is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai. This role is responsible for overseeing vulnerability management across client environments, including identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and tracking remediation of security weaknesses in cloud, web, mobile, and on-premise systems. Day-to-day tasks include managing vulnerability scans, validating and triaging findings, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to develop remediation plans, and monitoring progress against service-level expectations.

The Vulnerability

Manager will create and maintain vulnerability management policies and procedures, prepare reports and dashboards for stakeholders, and support incident response activities when critical vulnerabilities are discovered.



The role also involves staying current with emerging threats, exploit techniques, and security best practices, and recommending improvements to tools, processes, and security architecture.

Qualifications

Strong experience with vulnerability assessment and management, including running and interpreting scans, validating findings, and prioritizing remediation.

Hands-on knowledge of common vulnerabilities in web, mobile, cloud, and infrastructure environments, and familiarity with standards such as OWASP Top 10 and CIS Benchmarks.

Understanding of network and application security concepts, including firewalls, APIs, authentication, encryption, and secure configuration practices.

Experience working with security tools and platforms (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SIEM, endpoint security, cloud security tools) and documenting workflows and reports.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, DevOps, operations) to drive remediation, and to communicate complex technical issues in clear, accessible language.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and priorities.

Relevant education in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field; professional certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CISSP, or Security+ are a plus.

Prior experience in a cyber security or risk management role, preferably in a startup or consulting environment, and willingness to work on-site in Chennai.
