Job Purpose -High-Level summary:

We are looking for an experienced VCFO / Accountant who can work independently with Australian managers and take ownership of financial statements, tax compliance, management reporting, client deliverables and team review responsibilities. The role requires strong Australian accounting knowledge, attention to detail, client focus and the ability to deliver accurate work within agreed timelines.

The successful candidate will support senior management with board packs, management reports and interpretation of financial results to help clients make informed business decisions.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in Australian Accounting, public practice or a similar accounting environment.
- Strong experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Processing and Bank Reconciliations.
- Experience preparing Financial Statements, Supporting Workpapers, BAS, IAS and PAYG Statements.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian tax, bookkeeping and accounting processes.
- Hands-on experience with Xero, MYOB, Xero Practice Manager and Xero Tax will be preferred.
- Experience preparing Financial Management Reports, Management Reporting, Board Packs,



Budgeting and Forecasting.
- Experience with Month-End Processing, GST, Superannuation and PAYG Reconciliations.
- Prior experience reviewing junior accountants' work, providing review points and mentoring team members will be highly regarded.
- Strong Excel, reporting and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with clients, colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
- Robust attention to detail, time management, self-management and ability to work independently.
- Ability to support Directors, Partners and Leaders with high-quality accounting, compliance and reporting work.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor or equivalent degree
- CA / CPA / ICWA / CS qualified or pursuing candidates will be preferred.
- Critical analytical skills including the ability to identify and provide meaningful insights to clients.
- Strong technical accounting skills with experience in applying accounting standards
- Excellent skills in leading project teams to deliver finance projects or internal improvement activities
