About Nature Morte
Nature Morte is one of India’s most internationally recognized contemporary art galleries, with a 25-year history of placing Indian artists at leading global institutions, including Tate Modern, the Guggenheim, and the Centre Pompidou.
Alongside the gallery, Nature Morte operates the Saat Saath Arts Foundation, home to India’s first international sculpture park, and SSA Advisory, its institutional art advisory practice. The organisation is currently in an active phase of international expansion, with new locations and programmes being developed globally.
About the Role
This is a high-impact opportunity to work at the centre of one of India’s most ambitious arts organisations during an important phase of growth.
You will work closely with the Managing Director and the Founder’s Office to drive execution across key organizational priorities. The position requires a highly capable professional who can understand strategic direction, translate it into actionable plans, coordinate across teams, track progress, identify challenges, and ensure timely completion of key initiatives.
The role offers significant exposure to strategy, business operations, project execution, institutional partnerships, international expansion, and organisational development, making it ideal for a high-performing professional who wants to take on a broad, challenging, and high-impact role.
You will act as a critical link between the Managing Director’s vision and the organisation’s execution, ensuring that priorities move forward with clarity, ownership, discipline, and pace.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Execution & Follow-Through
- Translate discussions and decisions into clear action plans, timelines, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes.
- Track critical deliverables and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
- Monitor progress across priority workstreams and proactively flag risks, delays, and dependencies.
- Ensure that decisions are effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders and followed through to completion.
2. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work across the Gallery, Saat Saath Arts Foundation, and SSA Advisory to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Coordinate with senior stakeholders and functional teams to remove bottlenecks and resolve operational challenges.
- Connect information and priorities across teams to ensure that the organisation operates with clarity and efficiency.
- Drive accountability while maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Project & Initiative Management
- Lead and manage strategic projects from conception through execution and completion.
- Support and drive initiatives such as new location openings, programme launches, institutional partnerships, and commercial initiatives.
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and tracking mechanisms.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule and within agreed objectives.
- Identify potential roadblocks early and take proactive action to resolve them.
4. Business Operations & Process Improvement
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and recurring challenges across the organisation.
- Develop and implement systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms that support organisational scalability.
- Strengthen internal reporting, operational planning, project tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend practical solutions before they escalate to the Managing Director.
- Support the development of a more structured, accountable, and execution-focused organisational culture.
5. Stakeholder Management & Representation
- Represent the Managing Director in internal and external discussions where her direct presence is not required.
- Ensure that the Managing Director's priorities, expectations, and intent are clearly understood and appropriately communicated.
- Build robust working relationships with senior leadership, employees, artists, institutions, partners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
6. Founder’s Office Support
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, reports, summaries, and other materials required for strategic discussions and decision-making.
- Conduct research and analysis on business, cultural, institutional, and strategic matters as required.
- Support the Managing Director in preparing for important meetings, reviews, and strategic engagements.
- Maintain visibility on key organisational priorities and ensure that critical matters receive appropriate attention and follow-up.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant professional experience, with experience in a reputed consulting firm being mandatory/preferred.
- Candidates from management consulting, strategy consulting, Big 4 advisory, or a high-growth Founder’s Office/CEO’s Office environment will be preferred.
- Strong experience in project management, strategic execution, business problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously and deliver outcomes within timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and other business productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently, takes ownership, and operate with a high degree of accountability.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with maturity and discretion.
- Genuine curiosity and interest in contemporary art, culture, institutions, and the creative sector.
