Job Summary The Production Manager oversees end-to-end manufacturing operations across the Tool Room and Molding Unit, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This role is responsible for driving production output, optimizing cycle times, and implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce costs and maximize plant efficiency for both Tooling Projects and Thermoplastic/Thermoset products. You will lead a team of production supervisors and shop floor operators, ensuring seamless scheduling, high equipment utilization, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards from concept to delivery.

This role is a full time salaried position, requiring onsite work at our Asangaon location.

Roles & Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Establish and execute production strategies to meet output targets, optimize manufacturing efficiency, and support customer schedule and priorities across plant operations.

Tool Room Coordination: Coordinate closely with our internal and external Tool Room and Design teams to ensure timely turnaround of mold maintenance, repairs, and tool readiness for production schedules.

Molding Operations: Lead plant-level manufacturing for Thermoplastic and Thermoset (Injection, Compression, and Transfer)

Process Optimization & Cost Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce cycle times, lower scrap rates, and optimize operator headcounts and manufacturing costs.

Scheduling & Output Management: Manage production planning and scheduling to ensure adherence to delivery deadlines, balancing machine utilization and resource allocation.

Root Cause Analysis: Deploy structured problem-solving methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D) to resolve persistent shop-floor bottlenecks, equipment failures, and yield losses.

Process Capability & Efficiency: Monitor and report on key manufacturing metrics, including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), labor productivity, and machine efficiency.

Resource & Capacity Planning: Plan and optimize production manpower, shift rosters, and machine loading to support changing volume demands, New Product Development (NPD) trials, Mold Trials, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment by strictly enforcing 6S methodology, safety regulations, and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Requirements Education: B.Tech/Diploma (or higher) in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Polymer Engineering or any relevant qualification experience.





Experience: 5+ years of progressive manufacturing and operations experience in Tool Room and Plastic Molding industries, with a strong track record in plant management and cost reduction.

Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, machine capabilities, and tooling parameters for both Thermoplastic and Thermoset operations.

Process Optimization & Lean Expertise: Hands-on experience implementing time studies, line balancing, and headcount optimization initiatives on the shop floor.

Core Competencies: Expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S methodology, OEE optimization, and capacity planning.

Material Knowledge: Comprehensive handling knowledge of Thermoplastic and Thermoset materials (such as SMC, BMC, DMC, and engineering resins) and their processing behaviors.

Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, ERP production modules, and shop-floor data analytics tools.

Leadership: Proven capability in leading cross-functional manufacturing teams, driving accountability, and managing large shop-floor workforces across shifts.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills to effectively coordinate with quality, maintenance, stores, executive leadership, suppliers, and customers.

Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of factory safety regulations, OSHA/statutory compliance, and accident prevention protocols in a molding environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical capabilities utilizing structured root cause analysis (8D, Fishbone) to eliminate chronic machine downtime and yield losses.

Project Management: Ability to manage shop-floor readiness for New Product Development (NPD) trials, mold sampling, and production ramp-ups.
