Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA in Supply Chain/Operations will be an added advantage.

Job Summary The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing the complete procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, capital equipment, and services required for plant operations. The role involves vendor development, contract negotiations, inventory optimization, CAPEX and OPEX procurement, and coordination with production, maintenance, finance, and project teams while ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement activities for plant operations.

Handle procurement of raw materials, consumables, engineering items, spare parts, chemicals, packaging materials, and services.

Manage CAPEX procurement, including machinery, equipment, plant expansion projects, infrastructure development, and major capital investments.

Manage OPEX procurement, including operational consumables, maintenance materials, utilities, annual maintenance contracts (AMC), repair services, and routine operational purchases.

Prepare and evaluate Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Information (RFI).

Conduct vendor identification, vendor evaluation, vendor registration, and vendor performance reviews.

Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.

Ensure timely issuance of Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Work Orders, and Service Orders.

Coordinate with production, maintenance, engineering, stores, finance, and project teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.





Monitor procurement budgets and ensure purchases remain within approved CAPEX and OPEX allocations.

Track procurement lead times and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality.

Develop alternate vendors and maintain supplier relationships to mitigate supply risks.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement planning to avoid shortages and excess inventory.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, statutory requirements, and internal audit standards.

Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, vendor records, and MIS reports.

Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to support strategic purchasing decisions.

Participate in cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and continuous process improvement.

Coordinate logistics, transportation, and timely material delivery with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Resolve supplier-related issues involving quality, delivery, and commercial disputes.

Support annual budgeting, procurement planning, and forecasting activities.
