Role Description The Process Automation Engineer role at BMM ISPAT LTD. is a full-time, on-site position based in Karnataka, India. The engineer will design, implement, and optimize process automation solutions across steel and power plant operations, focusing on secure, efficient, and safe production processes.

Daily responsibilities include configuring and maintaining process control systems, programming and troubleshooting PLCs, and ensuring accurate instrumentation and data integrity. The role involves diagnosing process issues,



coordinating with operations and maintenance teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and energy efficiency. The engineer will also help standardize automation practices, document technical changes, and ensure compliance with internal and external safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in process control and process automation, with the ability to design and optimize industrial processes.
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), including programming, configuration, and integration with plant systems.
- Proficiency in instrumentation, including selection, calibration, diagnostics, and maintenance of field instruments and control devices.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for automation, electrical, and process-related issues in continuous production environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
- Experience in steel, mining, power generation, or heavy process industries is highly beneficial.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, control narratives, and engineering drawings, and to prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and safety awareness, with a willingness to work in on-site plant conditions and shifts if required.
