Principal Architect

Salary: Up to ₹40 LPA, inclusive of 10% variable compensation

About the Role

Our consulting client is seeking a Principal Architect to lead its Technology Strategy & Solutions function. This is a senior, highly visible position responsible for defining technology strategy and points of view, shaping differentiated solution narratives, leading enterprise-level architecture conversations, and influencing strategic business opportunities.

The successful candidate will work directly with customer stakeholders to understand business and technology challenges, collaborate with internal teams to develop custom solutions, and present the proposed architecture and business value to client executives.

This is not a purely presales or advisory position. The Principal Architect must be technically strong and capable of architecting enterprise-grade custom applications from scratch. Although regular hands-on development is not required, the individual should remain closely involved in solution design, system design, architecture governance, and selected high-impact delivery engagements.

Responsibilities

- Own, enhance, and execute the technology strategy across priority areas, including Cloud, Data, Generative AI, and application modernization.
- Develop and communicate technology points of view, solution approaches, and proof-of-value narratives.
- Understand customer business and technology problems through discovery sessions, executive conversations, and solution workshops.
- Translate customer requirements into custom, enterprise-grade technology solutions.
- Architect greenfield applications and platforms from scratch, including application, integration, data, security, infrastructure, and deployment architecture.
- Create and maintain enterprise-grade reference architectures, solution blueprints, proofs of concept, proofs of value, and reusable solution accelerators.
- Lead strategic discovery workshops and executive-level solutioning for priority opportunities.
- Present architecture recommendations, technology choices, trade-offs, risks, costs, and business value to senior customer stakeholders.
- Provide differentiated solution stories and technical credibility during strategic sales discussions.




- Partner with content marketing teams to translate technical points of view into blogs, whitepapers, presentations, webinars, and sales narratives.
- Build strong partnerships with delivery teams to identify high-impact solutions and projects that can be converted into capability showcases.
- Work with delivery architects to influence architectural consistency, engineering standards, and solution quality across teams.
- Remain technically involved during implementation by reviewing architecture, supporting delivery teams, and resolving complex solution-design challenges.
- Research market trends, emerging technologies, enterprise solutions, and buyer-adoption patterns.
- Develop deeper expertise in selected technology domains and industry verticals and translate those insights into solution strategies.
- Act as an external technology voice through webinars, talks, published content, and industry participation.
- Influence strategic opportunities through strong solution design, executive engagement, and differentiated technical thinking.

Required Skills and Experience

- B.E., B.Tech., M.Tech., MCA, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- 14–23 years of relevant experience in technology architecture, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or technology consulting.
- Strong experience in technology strategy, technology points of view, and enterprise solution architecture.
- Proven client-facing experience in an IT services, digital engineering, or technology consulting environment.
- Experience conducting customer discovery workshops and translating business problems into technical solutions.
- Strong executive solutioning experience, including presenting architecture and recommendations to senior customer stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience architecting custom applications and platforms from scratch.
- Strong solution-design, system-design,



and application-architecture capabilities.
- Experience working with complex enterprise-level applications, systems, integrations, and platforms.
- At least three years of recent AWS Cloud project experience.
- Ability to explain why specific AWS services and architecture patterns were selected.
- Practical exposure to AI and Generative AI assignments, including proofs of concept, proofs of value, or production implementations.
- Strong background in modern software engineering, cloud platforms, data, AI, GenAI, application modernization, and enterprise systems.
- Experience creating reference architectures, solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, proofs of value, and reusable accelerators.
- Ability to evaluate technology options and communicate trade-offs related to scalability, availability, performance, security, cost, and maintainability.
- Experience supporting strategic sales opportunities through solution narratives, technical presentations, and sales enablement.
- Robust thought-leadership skills, including the ability to develop technical content, presentations, whitepapers, or webinars.
- Strong cross-functional architectural leadership across sales, marketing, consulting, engineering, and delivery teams.
- Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to explain complex technology concepts clearly.
- Ability to remain technically involved in project delivery without being responsible for regular hands-on software development.

Preferred Qualifications

- TOGAF or another recognised enterprise-architecture certification.
- AWS Solutions Architect or another relevant AWS certification.
- Experience contributing to a Technology Strategy Group, Centre of Excellence, architecture practice, or innovation function.
- Experience with architecture governance, cloud cost estimation, and enterprise technology standards.
- Demonstrated external thought leadership through blogs, webinars, talks, or industry participation.

Compensation The salary for this position is up to ₹40 LPA, inclusive of 10% variable compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, current compensation, and other relevant factors.
