< Back Power Electronics Hardware Intern Apply Now Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Work Model On - Site Career Level Internship Availability Immediate Job ID 260102 About The Role As a Power Electronics Hardware Intern ( minimum 6 months) at Arbor Mobility, you will be responsible for design and development of various power electronic components like Battery Management System, Charger, DC-DC converter and revision of existing power electronic hardware. You will be interacting directly with the founders and will be getting overall guidance from them. You will be a core member of the team developing the power electronics hardware for the Arbor Mobility Electric Vehicle Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

- Development: -

Design and development of power electronics hardware like Battery Management System (BMS), Charger, DC-DC converter etc.

Read data sheets and reference designs of different power electronic components

Hardware selection based on detailed design calculations as per functional requirements of the components.

Schematics design, multi-layer PCB layout, component selection and BOM creation

Perform board level simulations for thermal, circuit analysis, EMI/EMC analysis.

Develop understanding of the applicable standards for the components being developed (IEC, IEEE, AIS, BIS etc.) and apply to the designs.

Implement corrective actions based on self-evaluation, feedback from testing and integration teams.

Perform section-wise testing and board bring-up activities on the hardware

Design for Life (durable component)

Prototyping and Testing: -

Provide support during prototype evaluation, debugging and help in troubleshooting.

Assist in the creation of prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts





Analyze test data and refine designs based on test results

Support certification and compliance testing processes.

Collaboration: -

Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand system requirements and define detailed technical requirements

Collaborate with other teams to come up development timelines for responsible hardware development

Collaborate with other teams for meeting vehicle level requirements and support vehicle integration activities

Collaborate with other teams to aid in enclosure design, define thermal requirements, component placement etc.

Documentation and Reporting: -

Ensure proper documentation of schematics design, PCB layout, BOM, Cost Analysis and design specifications.

Maintain a comprehensive test case matrix to track completion of functional requirements of the components.

Prepare thorough test reports and maintain detailed reports for component developed Requirements MTech in Power Electronics with expertise in AC-DC, DC-DC Converter design.

B-Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field

Experience in PCB and Schematic design software like Orcad, Altium, KiCAD etc.

Strong fundamentals of semiconductor devices like ICs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, thyristors, rectifiers, AFE, LDOs, switching regulators, capacitors, diodes etc.





Experience with circuit simulation software like Psim, Spice (LTSpice or PSpice), Matlab

Understanding of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques, thermal suppression devices, power conversion topologies, thermal design considerations etc.

Hands-on experience with testing & measurement equipment like power analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies etc.

Hands-on soldering experience

Self-motivated, eager to take initiative and ability to work effectively in a cross functional team workplace

Good communication skills and ability to ask questions About The Company Arbor Mobility is a 2W EV start-up based out of Bengaluru, India. We at Arbor Mobility are developing a performance two-wheeler EV motorcycle. The three Co-Founders have done their Masters in Automotive Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and have worked for various Automotive companies in India and the USA and are now determined to create something exciting in the EV space.

The company was started in November, 2022 and is now rapidly expanding. We, at Arbor Mobility are trying to answer the basic question of how to increase the adoption of EVs in India. EV usage is a paradigm shift in consumer behaviour.

It requires us to think how to tackle the issues such as charging, range anxiety & safety for a consumer. We at Arbor Mobility think it is essential to make it easy for the customers to switch to EVs. Hence, we have taken an innovative customer centric approach for our product development.
