Role & Responsibilities

- Designing and administering our database infrastructure, which includes Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS, MongoDB and Redis
- Building and managing highly available systems
- Configuring High Availability & DR Setup
- Driving Critical Change calls & requests
- Expert in handing complex performance issues
- Expert in handling database backup & recovery systems
- Participating in incident calls and subsequent root cause analysis
- Deploying systems in a Linux and/or Windows environment
- Working with developers, infrastructure team and business units to design and deliver the data infrastructure that runs PEAK6
- Developing, managing and testing backup and recovery procedures
- Performance tuning at all levels (hardware, DB instance, application code, etc.)
- Installing, testing and implementing new versions and/or updates
- Communicating and working well within a team structure
- Working with OEM for fixing product bugs
- Should be capable of driving and exploring solutions for Open Source system

Skills Must have Nice to Have
- Should have positive experience and understanding of PostgreSQL Architecture.
- Should have experience on setting up SLONY Replication and other Replication Methodologies.
- Good experience on Planning and Implementation of PostgreSQL cluster and configuring DR methodologies.




- Should be able to troubleshoot issues and tuning of DB. Good experience in creation of Migration plan for Oracle/PostgreSQL Database to vice versa.
- Experience on similar/different DB technology for Career upskill – Cloud/NoSQL/Hadoop.
- Should have sound Knowledge on PostgreSQL Architecture and concepts.
- Should have good understanding of basic PLSQL query and query management.
- Should be able to Install Database Cluster, configure pg_hba.conf and postgresql.conf, PG Agent.
- Should have sound experience in configuring and maintenance of Backup/restore strategies for PostgreSQL DB Should be able to do scheduling of Regular DB Maintenance Activities.
- Basic knowledge on Resolving performance issues. Should be able to do Replication -- Setup / Initialization and trouble shoot Replication issues.
- Knowledge on similar/different DB technology for Career upskill – Cloud/NoSQL/Hadoop. Oracle or MySQL Database Administration

- Service Request and Incident, Problem, Change managements
- Configuration, Capacity planning and Knowledge management
- Experience on ITIL Tools like Remedy, Peregrine
- Identify the service improvement plan
- ITIL Foundation certified
