1.JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure the efficient and safe operation of the edible oil refining plant by monitoring, controlling, and optimizing processing equipment and systems.

The Plant

Operator plays a critical role in transforming crude palm oil into high-quality refined edible oil in accordance with production plans, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This role is essential in maintaining product consistency, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

2.CORE JOB AREA &JOB; REPOSIBILITIES

Operate Refining Equipment

Monitor and control the operation of refining units such as neutralizers, bleachers, deodorizers, and fractionation systems.

Adjust process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and product quality.

Monitor Production Processes

Conduct regular checks on plant operations through control panels, SCADA/DCS systems, and physical inspections.

Identify process deviations or equipment abnormalities and take corrective actions promptly.

Quality Control:

Collect and test process samples at defined intervals to ensure conformance to edible oil quality standards.

Communicate with the quality control team to adjust processes based on laboratory feedback.

Record Keeping and Reporting

Maintain accurate logbooks, shift reports, and production data records.

Report any process disruptions, maintenance issues, or safety incidents to the shift supervisor or production manager.

Routine Equipment Maintenance

Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks and assist maintenance teams during breakdowns or scheduled shutdowns.

Ensure proper cleaning and lubrication of equipment as per SOPs.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

Adhere strictly to company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE and protected work practices.





Ensure that waste and effluents are managed according to environmental regulations.

Inventory and Material Handling

Assist in monitoring raw material inputs (crude palm oil, chemicals, etc.) and finished product outputs.

Emergency Response

Respond quickly and effectively to plant alarms, equipment failures, or process upsets to minimize risk and downtime.

3.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Diploma or Certificate in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ITI Fitter.

Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience operating machinery and equipment in an edible oil refining plant (e.g., palm oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, etc.).

Experience with DCS/SCADA systems for plant monitoring and control is preferred.

Prior exposure to food safety, GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards within a production environment is an added advantage.
