About the Opportunity The Placement & Industry Interface Manager plays a vital role in supporting the UWS Bangalore by driving student placements and building strong industry partnerships. The role focuses on securing quality career opportunities for graduates, strengthening employer relationships, and positioning the institution as a preferred recruitment partner through effective industry engagement and strategic execution.

Programme Scope & Placement Responsibility The Placement & Industry Interface Manager is responsible for managing placements for approximately 180 students annually across five academic programmes. The role involves developing programme-specific placement strategies, building strong employer relationships, and securing quality career opportunities that align with the industry requirements of each discipline.

What You Will Do

Student Placement & Career Outcomes

- Drive Placement Strategy: Develop and execute annual placement plans for all five programmes by setting placement targets, engaging employers, and coordinating campus recruitment activities to achieve successful student placements.
- Build Industry Partnerships: Establish and strengthen relationships with employers across diverse sectors, negotiate placement opportunities, internships, and compensation packages, and create sustainable recruitment partnerships.
- Manage Student Career Outcomes: Provide personalised placement guidance, match students with suitable opportunities, track placement progress through regular reporting, and oversee post-placement follow-up, internships, and employment retention.

Visiting Faculty & Senior Industry Expert Engagement

- Develop Industry Expert Network: Identify, engage, and build long-term relationships with senior industry leaders, CXOs, and subject matter experts to serve as visiting faculty, guest lecturers, and mentors across all programmes.
- Manage Visiting Faculty Engagements: Coordinate the end-to-end Visiting Industry Expert (VIE) programme, including scheduling, session management, logistics, honoraria, and maintaining a comprehensive database of industry experts for academic and accreditation purposes.

Industry Visits & Immersion Programmes

- Plan & Execute Industry Immersion: Organise programme-specific industry visits, corporate immersions,



and educational tours by coordinating with leading organisations, government bodies, and sector-specific institutions to provide practical learning experiences.
- Manage Partnerships & Logistics: Build long-term partnerships with host organisations while overseeing end-to-end visit planning, including permissions, logistics, safety, pre-visit briefings, and post-visit learning assessments.

Simulation, Experiential Learning & Industry Interface Environments

- Drive Experiential Learning: Establish and manage simulation labs, live consulting projects, case competitions, hackathons, and programme-specific practical learning initiatives that provide students with real-world business exposure.
- Strengthen Industry Engagement: Develop corporate mentorship programmes, collaborate with industry partners on live projects and challenges, and organise the annual Industry Conclave to foster networking, placements, and strategic partnerships.

Corporate Relations, MoUs & Partnership Development

- Build Strategic Partnerships: Identify, develop, and formalise partnerships and MoUs with corporates, government bodies, PSUs, and international organisations to support placements, internships, live projects, research, and collaborative initiatives.
- Strengthen Corporate Engagement: Serve as the primary relationship manager for industry partners, represent the School at key industry forums and recruitment events, and establish a Corporate Advisory Board to provide strategic guidance on curriculum, industry trends, and graduate employability.

Student Placement Preparation & Career Readiness

- Enhance Student Employability: Design and deliver comprehensive career readiness programmes, including rsum building, interview preparation, aptitude training, LinkedIn profile development, and professional skills coaching to prepare students for successful placements.
- Support Career Development:



Conduct mock interviews with industry experts and alumni, provide personalised career guidance, develop programme-specific career pathways, and engage alumni as mentors, guest speakers, and placement ambassadors.

Reporting, Data & Strategic Planning

- Manage Placement Data & Reporting: Maintain an accurate Placement Management System, monitor student placement progress, and prepare monthly and annual reports covering placement outcomes, employer engagement, and key performance metrics.
- Support Strategic Planning & Accreditation: Provide reliable placement data and insights for institutional planning, accreditation, rankings, and continuous improvement of placement strategies and industry engagement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

Education

- MBA or Masters degree in Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Public Policy, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

Experience

- 610 years of experience in campus placements, industry relations, talent acquisition, or business development, with a proven record of achieving placement targets.
- Proficient in placement management systems and MS Office/Google Workspace, with the ability to work under pressure and travel as required.

Skills & Attributes

- Strong industry network and the ability to build strategic partnerships across relevant sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a skilled approach to engaging students, faculty, and industry leaders.
- Professional, detail-oriented, and organised, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficient in placement management systems and MS Office/Google Workspace; self-motivated and willing to travel as required.
