JOB SUMMARY The Pharmacist will be responsible for the safe storage, dispensing and management of medicines and medical supplies at the assigned healthcare facility. The role requires accurate record-keeping, adherence to applicable pharmacy regulations, proper inventory management and clear guidance to patients regarding the use of prescribed medicines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Medicine Dispensing and Patient Support

· Dispense medicines strictly against valid prescriptions issued by authorized medical practitioners.

· Verify the medicine name, strength, dosage, quantity and instructions before dispensing.

· Explain dosage, timing, method of administration and storage instructions to patients.

· Inform patients about key precautions and possible medication-related concerns.

· Ensure medicines are appropriately labelled before being handed over to patients.

· Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.

Inventory and Stock Management

· Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables and other pharmacy items.

· Record all medicine receipts, issues, returns and stock transfers accurately.

· Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile differences.

· Monitor batch numbers, expiry dates and storage requirements.

· Follow the First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) principle while issuing medicines.

· Identify near-expiry, expired, damaged or recalled medicines and arrange their segregation and disposal as per procedure.

· Prepare purchase requirements and coordinate with authorized vendors and the procurement team.

· Prevent stock shortages, overstocking, pilferage and unauthorized use of medicines.

Storage and Safety





· Ensure medicines are stored according to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature and conditions.

· Maintain temperature records for refrigerators and other temperature-controlled storage areas.

· Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, secure and accessible only to authorized personnel.

· Ensure high-risk, restricted or special-category medicines are stored and recorded separately, wherever applicable.

· Immediately report temperature deviations, damaged stock or medicine-quality concerns.

Documentation and Compliance

· Maintain prescriptions, purchase invoices, stock registers, sale records and other required documentation.

· Ensure compliance with applicable drug and pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.

· Support inspections and audits conducted by management or regulatory authorities.

· Ensure the pharmacy license, pharmacist registration and other required documents remain valid and properly displayed.

· Prepare periodic reports on medicine consumption, stock position, expiry losses and purchase requirements.

Report medication errors, adverse reactions or dispensing-related incidents through the prescribed process.

QUALIFICATION AND REGISTRATION

· Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.

· Valid registration with the relevant State Pharmacy Council.

· Registration must remain active throughout the period of employment.

EXPERIENCE

· Prior experience in a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, diagnostic centre or healthcare organization is preferred.

· Freshers with valid registration and suitable practical knowledge may also be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
