Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pathology Medical Coder with 2-3 years of US healthcare coding experience and an active CPC certification. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in coding pathology and laboratory services, ensuring accurate assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes while maintaining compliance with payer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and coding standards.
The candidate will work closely with pathologists, laboratory personnel, providers, and revenue cycle teams to maximize coding accuracy, reimbursement, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for Pathology and Laboratory services.
- Review pathology reports, laboratory results, and physician documentation to determine appropriate code assignment.

- Ensure coding compliance with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, and coding guidelines.
- Review and resolve coding edits, denials, and claim rejections related to pathology services.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate with providers for clarification when required.
- Participate in coding audits and quality assurance reviews.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards as established by the organization.
- Stay updated with annual coding changes, payer regulations, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Medical Coding, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in Pathology Medical Coding for US Healthcare.
- Active CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification from AAPC.
- Strong knowledge of

Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications such as CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P, or COC are a plus.
- Experience in pathology billing and denial management.
- Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, Medicare, and payer-specific regulations.
- Experience working with pathology laboratories, hospital systems, or physician groups.
