Role Description The Owner role at 88 Pictures is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad, responsible for overall strategic direction, business performance, and studio leadership. Day-to-day activities include defining long-term vision, setting operational priorities, and overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

The Owner collaborates closely with creative, production, and technical leaders to ensure projects meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations, and maintains strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders. This role includes guiding business development, evaluating new market opportunities, and supporting talent acquisition, retention, and professional development.



The Owner is also expected to foster a positive, inclusive studio culture, uphold ethical standards, and ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and industry requirements.

Qualifications

- Experience in leading an animation, VFX, or media organization, with a track record of successful studio or business management.
- Strong strategic planning, financial management, and decision-making skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio oversight.
- Ability to collaborate with creative, technical, and production teams, and to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated skills in business development, client relationship management, and negotiation within entertainment or related industries.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities, with a focus on building inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with animation/VFX pipelines, production workflows, and industry standards; prior work with international partners is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Media Management, Film, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Hyderabad and to represent the studio at industry events, client meetings, and partner visits.
