The community collaborates with old age homes, orphanages, underserved communities, women’s safety initiatives, LGBTQ+ communities, and animal welfare organizations. Aashraya focuses not only on volunteering, but also on listening, caring, and showing up for people who may feel alone or overlooked. Volunteers are encouraged to lead social impact projects, build connections with purpose-driven people, and positively impact lives through everyday actions.
The mission of Aashraya is to make the world a better place together, by turning compassion into practical support.
Role Description The Outreach Intern volunteer role at Aashraya involves supporting community-based initiatives and helping expand the reach of the organization’s social impact work. On a day-to-day basis, the intern will help coordinate online outreach efforts, engage with potential volunteers and partner organizations, and assist in organizing virtual events or campaigns. The role includes communicating with community members via digital channels, maintaining accurate records of outreach activities,
and conducting basic research to identify opportunities for collaboration and support.
The Outreach
Intern will also contribute to drafting messages, posts, and updates that highlight ongoing projects and encourage community participation. This is a volunteer, remote role, offering flexibility while providing opportunities to develop skills in social impact, communication, and community engagement.
Qualifications Candidates should possess solid Communication and Community Outreach skills to engage diverse communities and represent Aashraya’s mission effectively.
Candidates should possess Customer Service and Writing skills to respond thoughtfully to inquiries, craft clear messages, and support digital engagement.
Candidates should possess Research skills to identify relevant organizations, initiatives, and collaboration opportunities that align with Aashraya’s focus areas.
Candidates should demonstrate empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine interest in social impact and community service.
Candidates should be comfortable working remotely, managing their time independently, and collaborating with team members through online tools.
Prior experience in volunteering, non-profit work, or social initiatives is beneficial but not required; a proactive and learning-oriented mindset is highly valued.
