Role Description The Educational Counsellor will provide individualized guidance to students aspiring to study at highly selective universities abroad, supporting them through every stage of the application process, working closely with and under the guidance of senior counsellors on strategy and final narrative decisions. This full-time, in office role is based in New Delhi and involves regular in-person meetings with students and families to discuss academic plans, university options, and application strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, supporting students with profile development, advising on university and programme selection, and coaching students through early drafts of essays, personal statements, and interview preparation ahead of senior review.
The Educational
Counsellor will collaborate with colleagues to track student progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure that each student receives timely,
high-quality support. The role also includes coordinating and representing PNK at education fairs, school visits, webinars, and other outreach events, and staying updated on global higher education trends, admission requirements, and visa processes relevant to the UK and US.
Qualifications Strong educational consulting and education-domain knowledge, with an understanding of global higher education systems and selective university admissions.
Proficiency in student counselling, including one-on-one guidance, progress tracking, and tailored support for diverse academic and personal backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex application processes clearly to students and families.
Exposure to or training in career counselling, helping students align university choices with long-term academic and professional goals.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field; prior experience in international education consulting is highly beneficial.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple student cases simultaneously and meet application deadlines.
Comfort working in a high-performance, outcome-focused environment, with attention to detail and a commitment to ethical, student-centric guidance.
1–3 years of relevant experience; candidates early in their specialisation who are ready to grow into independently owning selective-university casework are encouraged to apply.
Willingness to travel locally and coordinate event logistics for education fairs, school visits, and webinars, including occasional weekend or evening commitments.
